South Cheshire Concert Band: Equal Opportunity Policy
This Policy applies to all members of the SCCB and to anyone carrying out roles or activities relating to or on behalf of the SCCB.

The key principles of this equal opportunities policy are to:

  •  prevent discrimination, harassment and victimisation
  •  promote and foster good relations within the Band

This means being aware of the impact of our behaviour and activities on people from the protected groups listed below.

The Law
This policy is governed by the Equality Act 2010, which makes it unlawful to discriminate directly or indirectly, in recruitment to, or membership of, the SCCB because of a protected characteristic. The protected characteristics are:

  •  age
  •  disability
  •  gender (or sex)
  •  gender reassignment
  •  race
  •  religion or belief
  •  sexual orientation
  •  pregnancy and maternity
  •  marriage and civil partnership

All members of the SCCB are made aware that, as an organisation, we work within the requirements of the Equality Act of 2010.
