South Cheshire Concert Band: Equal Opportunity Policy
This Policy applies to all members of the SCCB and to anyone carrying out roles or activities relating to or on behalf of the SCCB.

The key principles of this equal opportunities policy are to:

  •  provide equality for all
  •  promote an inclusive culture
  •  respect and value differences of everyone
  •  prevent discrimination, harassment and victimisation
  •  promote and foster good relations within the Band


This means being aware of the impact of our behaviour and activities on people from the protected groups listed below.

The Law
This policy is governed by the Equality Act 2010, which makes it unlawful to discriminate directly or indirectly, in recruitment to, or membership of, the SCCB because of a protected characteristic. The protected characteristics are:

  •  age
  •  disability
  •  gender (or sex)
  •  gender reassignment
  •  race
  •  religion or belief
  •  sexual orientation
  •  pregnancy and maternity
  •  marriage and civil partnership


All members of the SCCB are made aware that, as an organisation, we work within the requirements of the Equality Act of 2010.

Copies of the Policy will be made available either electronically or as 'hard copies' to any member of the SCCB, or any other relevant organisation, on request from the SCCB Secretary, Sharon Forrester-Wild at  sharon.forresterwild@gmail.com

SCCB Members' Privacy Statement.


In accordance with current Data Protection law, the following document has been produced to inform members of the SCCB about the types of data we collect and how it is used.


DATA REQUIREMENTS:


We need to collect the following data from all Band members - name, email address, mobile or landline telephone number and details of instrument(s) played.


USE OF DATA:


The above information is needed to enable us to organise and run the Band - e.g. to inform members of dates and times of rehearsals and engagements and of any changes in subscriptions.

This data will not be used for any other purpose unless you give us specific consent to do so. This includes the use of photographs and video / audio recordings of any Band activities.


DATA SHARING:


We will ensure all data is kept safe and we will not share data with any third party.

If another member of the SCCB asks for your contact details we will refer this request to you, for you to deal with as you think is appropriate.

If you inform us that you have ceased to be a member of the SCCB, we will stop using your data and delete it from all our records.



VIEWING, UPDATING OR CORRECTING YOUR DATA CAN BE DONE AT ANY TIME.
